Final Arsenic Rule signed

The EPA Administrator has signed the final Arsenic Rule setting the maximum contaminant level (standard) at 10 ppb. The rule also contains language requiring systems to report anything above 5 ppb in their Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR). The rule includes suggested language for the CCR, however a utility (in consultation with the State primacy agency) may write its own "educational statement."

You can find a copy of the rule and a fact sheet on the EPA's website at http://www.epa.gov/safewater
