Participants needed for WARN Program
The Nebraska Section American Water Works Association is seeking 9 to10 water operators from Nebraska public water systems to participate in a Water/Wastewater Agency Response Networks (WARN) program.
The volunteers selected will be required to attend a one-day workshop presented in Denver, CO. The determination of which volunteers are selected will be made on equal representation of the various water system sizes throughout the state.
A Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network (WARN) is a network of utilities helping utilities to respond to and recover from emergencies.
This invitation only workshop is entitled "Utilities Helping Utilities: Mutual Aid Response Networks for Water and Wastewater Systems."
The date of the workshop is tentatively scheduled for sometime during week of July 9, 2007.
AWWA will cover each state's travel, meals, one night at the hotel where the attendees will be staying, and other reasonable and necessary expenses that fall within the guidelines of AWWA's Travel Policy.
If you are the operator of a public water system and are interested in participating in this workshop with possible follow-up involvement in Nebraska, please submit your name, public water system you represent, population served, and a brief statement as to why you are interested in participating in this workshop by May 3, 2007 to either Chuck Thomerson by e-mail at: <mailto:pwesdir@columbusne.us> or Rob Pierce by e-mail at: <mailto:robp@lonm.org> .
