Chair's Report
The year is in full swing, and I have appreciated your efforts as board and committee members. Thank you for your support and attendance at our activities this last month. We'll hear more about these activities and their successes throughout today's meeting. I wanted to highlight a few of them:
- Great work by Ben Day and the committee to successfully plan and hold the Water Utility Workshop on May 10th. It was well-attended and we were able to provide educational opportunities for different members and industry personnel than what we reach at the Fall Conference.
- Governor's proclamation on April 4th: Thank you to the ten individuals (including four board members and two committee chairs) who made the time and trip to Lincoln to take part in the Drinking Water Week proclamation ceremony.
- Presentation to SCC-Milford on April 27th: Thank you to Marc Rosso for the idea, and Ryan Hurst for setting up the meet-and-greet to share what we do. There were nearly 20 students in attendance and we talked with them about various subjects for over 30 minutes. The faculty who were present said that this would be a great presentation to schedule twice per year. They were grateful for the scholarship and program contributions.
- And as always, we are grateful for the golf and other events put together by the Water For People committee, which is why we are here today.
These are the big items that have occurred since our last meeting, here's to looking forward for the next few months!
Planning for the Fall Conference is in full swing, and getting started (don't forget to turn in your presentation abstracts to Marc Rosso!). We'll continue our 75th anniversary planning discussions and are looking forward to how that comes together between now and November. With school getting out (for those of us with kids at home) and summer vacations started, I hope that you enjoy some time off and can enjoy our great state and country! Don't forget to try the water along the way!
Thanks to all of you for the important work that you as Board Members, Committee Chairs, and active members.
