Chair's Report
We are approaching the dog days of summer. I have been out of the office a lot, exploring different parts of our great country. Some I have been to before, but others are new. Either way, water plays a big part of it. I am typing this while serving as camp staff for Webelos (Cub) Scouts south of Humboldt, Nebraska, which is why I'll be joining the board virtually for our meeting today. Water is a key component in our summer activities, from baseball to camping, swimming and boating, gardening, and other seasonal activities. I am grateful for the work that each of us does to help keep us cool and to keep summer fun!
Summer time is typically a slower period for Section activities. However, training and planning activities are ongoing. Please be sure to take part in our Nebraska Section AWWA appreciation sponsorship event at the Heartland Operators Conference. Thanks to Marc Rosso for setting that up.
The Fall Conference agenda is nearly set! There is still a little time to submit a few presentation topics to share with your peers. We'll continue and wrap up our 75th anniversary planning discussions and are looking forward to how this is finalized between now and November.
We will have our fall activities coming up before we know it. Thank you to the Water For People committee and others for putting these together, to provide leadership and direction for our Section! I can't say it enough, so THANK YOU to each of you for the important work that you as board members, committee chairs, and active members.
