- (Nov 21) During the joint AWWA/NWEA conference luncheon on Thursday, November 8, 2018, we recited the names of our colleagues who had passed away during the previous year and recognized a moment of silence on their behalf. One of the names presented was Bill Zimmermann, who was a previous owner of Bert Gurney and Associates. However, his name is similar to that of Bill Simmerman of Municipal Automation and Control. We wish to clarify that Bill Simmerman is still alive and well. The Nebraska Section American Water Works Association wishes to issue this statement clarifying colleagues who have passed previously, as well as those who we are grateful to still have with us, and apologize for any confusion or misunderstandings caused from the conference announcement.
